It's the Great Pumpkin(s), Charlie Brown!!

The Jack o'Lanterns, 2007

Child Number One's "Frog"

Child Number Two's "Cat With Snack"
(with thanks to Beck for
the inspiration...)

Child Number Three's "Piggy"
(Those nostrils propped up on toothpicks
were a lot harder than I thought they'd be...)

The pumpkins are so very colourful!

This is probably a silly question, but do you eat them afterwards?

It was Halloween here last night - we had no one come to our door. I didn't even have any lollies in the house, was going to give them an orange if we had any visitors.

Halloween isn't widely celebrated here, shopkeepers advertise various Halloween goods but it really hasn't caught on, it is seen as a North American celebration.

Hi, Mrinz!! No, these are not the type of pumpkins that are good to eat. The edible ones are smaller, and are called "pie pumpkins". There are several different varieties, but I always tend to buy my pumpkin in a can for baking (much less trouble, and just as good, really).

We LOOOOOVE Hallowe'en here-- it's a big, stinkin' deal in our neighbourhood. Everyone decorates and makes a big fuss over costumes. As a designer, I am in my ELEMENT when I get the opportunity to help my kids dress up... I wanted to dress up, too, as the Wicked Witch of the West, but Child Number Three recoiled when she caught sight of the green makeup I was prepared to put all over myself... Next year, instead. I think my new hair colour was all she could handle!!

Hope you had a good Hallowe'en!

Lots of love, CGF xxxooo

What GREAT pumkins. We painted ours because I can't yet trust my children with knives. Someday, I hope...

Certain people (my husband) think that I shouldn't be trusted with knives, either...
