Snow in Vancouver...

Snow DROPS, actually.

Yes, this is apparently what it looks like on the West Coast of Canada this week.

Brought to you exclusively by my friend Travellor, who delights in calling me up every. single. danged. time. we have a winter storm here in Ontario.

"Hi, Hunny... I hear it's snowing..." he'll whisper delightedly into the telephone, and it's all I can do to keep from reaching down the long-distance line and throttling him with my bare hands.

Today, however, he sent me photos of his beautiful garden-- all tidied up, with the lawns neatly aerated... I could practically SMELL the scent of freshly-turned earth in the flowerbeds...

So inspired was I by his series of snapshots-- each one more gorgeous than the last-- I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I took the biggest, sharpest metal spade I could find, and spent all afternoon chipping the thick layer of ice off of our driveway. Take THAT, Old Man Winter!!

The Snowy Season in the East may not be over yet-- not by a LONG shot-- but it's our duty as Canadians to fend it off as best we can... And, looking on the BRIGHT side (if there is one): shovelling is WAY cheaper than therapy. It may not be as exhilarating as gardening, but today, as I gazed down at bare, black asphalt for the first time in nearly five months... I felt a surge of faith that one day, SPRING WILL COME to our part of the world.

Thanks, Travellor, you big sweetie. You cheered me up, no end... I'll be returning the favour next week, with photos of three little girlies on a Southern beach, gathering seashells and wiggling their toes in the soft, white sand...

i. can't. wait.

"Hi, Travellor... I hear it's raining..."

Rain you say...certainly you jest...it's merely liquid sunshine, the nectar of the garden gods... Long live the gardens gods!

I must grudgingly agree... Bring on the liquid sunshine, for the love of all that grows!!

I'm still sending you photos of the beach, though. I'll attach them to your annual BIRTHDAY TAUNTING, okay??!

Miss you--

Such a nice picture, though. ;-)

We could use some warmer weather here, too... although at least we are without the white stuff.

Oh I remember last year's pics from the beach. Can't wait to see this year's (and so glad you're feeling better!).
