For Susan.

A starburst, captured by the Hubble telescope
Because I know you're there.

Come, gentle night, come, loving, black-brow'd night,
Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night.

--Romeo and Juliet, Act 3 Scene 2

In loving and grateful memory of our dear friend,

Susan Niebur

a.k.a. "Whymommy"

who passed away on February 6th.

Thank you for sharing your life and love with me.

I have read whymommy's blog often but hadn't realised her journey had come to an end.
We are just beginning ours. Our beautiful daughter in law has just begun her battle with lung cancer (she has never smoked). She and my son have sat their three little children down and explained that Mummy is very sick and may be spending time in hospital. The 4 year olds were matter of fact but the 6 year old said 'is mummy going to die' Their answer - We hope not but Mummy may not be here when you grow up to be a big girl.

I just can't blog about it - whymommy was so very brave.

Oh, Merinz... I am so terribly sorry. Know that you and your family are in my prayers and on my mind, as you face this challenge together.

I've sent you an email-- I hope your address is still the same?? If not, please let me know at candygirlflies@gmail.com!

Much love, as always, CGF xoxo

A great choice of photo. Whymommy was an amazing woman and her impact is wide spread and will, I'm sure, be long lasting. Her death had certainly hit many hard.
